ConteA Merlot Reserve – Slovenska Brda – Valter Sirk
Price range: £45,00 through £100,00
Vinification: It begins with the separate vinification of three Merlot clones, enhancing complexity. Following an initial cold maceration, the wine ages for five years in a mix of new and used barriques and tonneau, enriching its structure and aroma. Afterward, it undergoes four to six months in steel for refinement. Bottling takes place 80 months post-harvest, allowing for a further six months of bottle aging before release. This meticulous approach results in an elegant, persistent wine with a harmonious balance of freshness and complexity.
Tasting Note: This delicate ruby red wine, with garnet hues, offers an exquisite tasting experience marked by intense aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and subtle spices like anise and cinnamon. Its soft, silky tannins and vibrant freshness create a harmonious mouthfeel, while lingering notes of pepper and cocoa contribute to a balanced, persistent finish that enchants the palate.
