“Bianco Fornace” – Cascina Fornace
£30,60
Fruity white wine made in Roero, Piedmont. The vineyards are in the Santo Stefano Roero area, 350 m above sea level. Practices follow the dictates of organic farming, and the vines draw essential nutrients from the predominantly sandy with clay and silt.
Vinification: The steep slopes ensure optimal exposure of the bunches. After a traditional harvest, the winemaking process begins alcoholic fermentation with only indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks.
Tasting notes: Golden in colour yet surprisingly fresh, crisp, and light, it has notes of red apple, peach, and light citrus. It’s a bit on the dry side, with some acidity and minerality, but it has a sweet nose, so it’s balanced out. Enjoy, especially chilled on a hot summer day.
