Salento Rosso Igp “Sud del Sud” – Tenuta Emèra
£19,00
Vinification: A blend of 30% Primitivo, 30% Negroamaro, 15% Merlot, 10% Syrah, 10% Petit Verdot, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are meticulously hand-harvested from late August to September, ensuring optimal ripeness. After gentle crushing, fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. The wine is aged for six months in steel and three months in barrique, resulting in a well-structured wine that embodies the character of its Southern Italian origin.
Tasting Note: A deep ruby red colour wine with an impenetrable texture and a medium to full body. Notes of vanilla and spice intertwine with a medley of ripe fruit, including blackberry, crème de cassis, and a hint of espresso, complemented by aromas of black olives and herbs. On the palate, it is full and smooth, with warm spice tones and a bright acidity that harmoniously binds the elements together. Well-structured and juicy, it culminates in a rich, smoky finish.
