In 1998, Jean-Yves inherited five hectares of vines from his grandfather, Jean Garnier. By 2006, his wife Christine joined him, and together they expanded their estate to around thirty hectares, spanning the Fronsac, Canon Fronsac, and Bordeaux appellations, as well as some Vin de France vintages. What distinguishes their Domaine is its adventurous spirit; since 2006, they have planted a selection of atypical grape varieties, such as Riesling, Chenin, Colombard, Petit Manseng, Cinsault, Marselan, and Pineau d’Aunis, alongside traditional varieties like Castets and Petit Verdot. Jean-Yves is renowned as the artist of grape varieties, skillfully blending these to create unique wines.
Nestled on the right bank of the Dordogne at the confluence of the Dordogne and Isle rivers, the Fronsac and Canon Fronsac vineyards benefit from protected climatic conditions and exceptional clay-limestone soils. Rooted in a deep respect for the land, the couple employs organic and biodynamic practices, producing natural wines that reflect their terroir without synthetic pesticides. Their winemaking philosophy embraces natural vinification, allowing the wines to express their true essence and revealing the remarkable character that each vintage embodies.
