The Diocesan Institute for the Support of the Clergy of Florence was founded in 1985, following the new law on the concordat stipulated by the Italian State with the Catholic Church.
The Institute, the heir to the centuries-old parish priests, became the owner of the Pieve di Campoli agricultural company in that year, whose registered office is located in Florence.
The Pieve di Campoli winery includes over 50 hectares of vineyards located in the Chianti and Chianti Classico areas of the municipalities of Barberino Val d’Elsa, Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, and San Casciano Val di Pesa.
The winery is located in Barberino Tavarnelle and produces IGT, Chianti, Chianti
Classico, and Vinsanto del Chianti Classico.
The main cultivated variety is Sangiovese, with smaller plantings of Syrah, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Canaiolo, and Colorino. White grapes, predominantly Malvasia and Trebbiano, are also grown.
