Terre di Gnirega is a small winery run since 4 generations by Aldrighetti family. The winery owns 3,5 hectare of vineyards, where they also grow cherry trees, plu trees and olive trees. Terre di Gnirega is based on the hill of Valgatara, in the valley of Marano di Valpolicella.
Since the ’70-’80 the Aldrighetti family decided to leave out chemicals from their plantation, joining in this way the future organic farming. Respecting the environement and producing natural wines, oil and fruit it also means respect for local traditions:
in the following years the family starts to work land and fields trying rspectig the traditional agricultural landscape, featured by “marogne” (terracing structures built with dried stone walls). On these terraced field are grown vineyards, cherry trees and olive trees.
In 1989 the farm gains the organic certificate according to the AIAB regulation (Italian Organic Agriculture Association),
then included in the EU regulation in 1991.
