Châteauneuf du Pape Aoc Rouge – Font de Crau – Domaine de la Graveirette
£52,10
Vinification: From a selection of centenary vines on the Crau plateau, this exquisite wine is crafted from 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvèdre. After meticulous destemming and sorting, the grapes are fermented in concrete tanks before maturing for 24 months in stainless steel. Following an additional two years in the bottle, it is released, showcasing the unique terroir characterised by pebbles and sand. The vineyard is cultivated organically and biodynamically, prioritising minimal intervention throughout the vinification process.
Tasting Note: A full-bodied wine impresses with its deep ruby hue and complex aromas of dark fruits, including ripe cherry, raspberry, and blackberry, complemented by earthy notes of leather and forest floor. Subtle spices like cinnamon enhance the profile, while silky tannins and soft acidity provide a smooth mouthfeel. The finish is medium to long, evolving in intensity with each sip.
