Clos Henri Pinot Noir, Marlborough New Zealand
£37,50
Clos Henri Marlborough Pinot Noir, Organic, red berries, supple, complex New Zealand red wine. Clos Henri organic Pinot Noir is a very French style of Pinot Noir from Sancerre originating producer Henri Bourgeois. Handharvested and fermented in open fermenters, it undergoes gentle hand plunging before being matured for a year in 30% new oak. The result is mocha and red berry aromas, a plump palate and ripe concentrated fruit, with beautifully integrated tannins. Real finesse from these low yielding vines. This is a 96 hectare property bought by the Bourgeois wine family (of Sancerre Fame) in 2001. They are committed to maintaining the bio-diversity of the farm and have planted various legumes and other crops over the last 15 years whilst converting the estate steadily to vineyard.
