Primitivo di Manduria Dop “Oro di Emèra” – Tenuta Emèra
£25,00
Vinification: 100% primitivo grapes hail from a picturesque locale just 500 metres from the coast, where ancient calcareous soils nurture 50-year-old Puglian alberello vines. Hand-harvested in early September, the grapes yield a modest 60 quintals per hectare. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel with 25 days of skin maceration, followed by maturation in first-use oak barrels for twelve months. This intricate process produces a rich red wine with a smooth complexity, reflecting the sun-drenched beauty of its Ionian coastal setting.
Tasting Note: It is a delightful, soft experience, featuring aromas of ripe citrus and cherry. On the palate, it is warm and exuberant, with lush blackberry notes and a lingering finish. Its deep ruby colour, floral hints, and well-managed tannins combine to create a robust yet elegant profile with a subtle spice that enhances the tasting experience.
