Rosso di Montalcino Doc – Piombaia
£31,00
Piombaia is a fourth-generation family farm with twelve hectares of vineyard situated just a few kilometres south of Montalcino. The vines are at 400-600 metres altitude and separated into twelve one-hectare plots, all farmed biodynamically. Francesco Cantini expertly crafts the wines to show the quality and intensity of fruit and its natural acidity rather than heavy extraction. 2019 is a concentrated vintage due to a sweltering summer in the region. This is packed with vibrant wild cherry and plum flavours with earthy hints balanced by good acidity and relatively gentle, fine tannins. It has aged in more extensive, old wood for one year.
Rosso di Montalcino certified Bio is a fresh, elegant wine that reflects a vintage that promises great things.
