Rosso di Montalcino Doc – Piombaia
£31,00
Piombaia is a fourth-generation family farm with twelve hectares of vineyard situated just a few kilometres south of Montalcino. The vines are at 400-600 metres altitude and separated in to twelve one-hectare plots, all farmed biodynamically. The wines are expertly crafted by Francesco Cantini to show the quality and intensity of fruit and its natural acidity rather than heavy extraction. 2019 is a concentrated vintage due to an exceptionally hot summer in the region. This is packed full of vibrant wild cherry and plum lavours with earthy hints balanced by good acidity and fairly gentle, fine tannins. Aged in larger, old wood for one year.
Rosso di Montalcino 2019, certified Bio, is a fresh wine, with a certain elegance, a reflection of a vintage that will promise great things.
