Pinot Noir – Bourgogne Rouge – Domaine Aime’ Blouzard

Vinification: The Domaine is best known for its white wines, particularly Mâcon-Péronne. It also produces an outstanding Bourgogne Rouge from Pinot Noir. From old vines, some planted between the 1930s and 1980s, grown on classic clay-limestone soils, the fruit is handled with care through an environmentally respectful, certified organic approach. Vinification is gentle to retain purity. Depending on the vintage, maturation is either in oak barrels for around 10 months or in neutral vessels to emphasise fruit.

Tasting note: It is light, fresh and beautifully perfumed. Bright ruby with violet hints sets the scene for vibrant red-berry aromas, raspberry and cherry, lifted by rose petal and wild rose hip. Subtle forest-floor earthiness, crushed stone and a gentle leather note follow, with fine, silky texture, lively high-toned acidity, soft tannins and delicate, understated spice. The 2024 adds wild peppery savouriness and mineral, faintly “haemetic” complexity.
