Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Colline Teramane DOCG “Antares” – San Lorenzo Winery

£41,40

Dry red wine “Antares” Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Colline Teramane DOCG is made from Montepulciano grapes grown in the Colline Teramane region. The vineyards, which have calcareous-clay soils and a planting density of 4500 vines per hectare, are located 250-300 meters above sea level.

The grapes are harvested in October. The berries, removed from the stems, are gently crushed and then macerated on the skins for 14-20 days. Alcoholic fermentation occurs in steel tanks at 30 °C.

The wine is aged in French oak barrels for one year.

Ruby-colored wine with a purple hue. Fruity with aromas of ripe fruits, bilberry, mulberry, and plum notes, followed by spicy and rich balsamic tones of vanilla and coffee. Full-bodied and fruity structure. It is a gentle and spontaneous wine whose tannins are not aggressive, is sweet and velvety, has great aromatic persistence, and perfect correspondence from nose to mouth. Pairings: it matches well with well-structured first courses, barbecued meats, mature and strong cheeses, eggs, game, and red meats.
