Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC “Bio” hand picked – San Lorenzo Winery

£38,75

The production process meets the standards of integrated viticulture, a low-impact agricultural system. Integrated viticulture avoids using phytosanitary products as much as possible, prioritizing organic and biotechnical measures of breeding and cultivation. It includes the correct soil cultivation and balanced fertilization and extends to biodiversity and the establishment of beneficial insects in the vineyard. The adjective “Bio-sustainable” is our seal to guarantee that behind the creation of each product lies our commitment to defending health and the environment, along with concrete actions to support it. Montepulciano “Bio” represents tradition and innovation in an organic and sustainable red wine without sulphites.

The grapes are destemmed and crushed softly. Alcoholic fermentation occurs with wild yeast and maceration on the skins for 14 to 20 days with temperature control. The fermentation is called “spontaneous.” After racking, the wine is kept in stainless steel vessels.

It is a red ruby-coloured wine, fruity with aromas of fresh berries and mineral notes. The taste is fresh, well-balanced, and full-flavoured. The silky smooth tannins and straightforward flavour make it very easy to drink. The aftertaste is very persistent.
