Piombaia is a fourth-generation family farm with twelve hectares of vineyard situated just a few kilometres south of Montalcino. The vines are at 400-600 metres altitude and separated into twelve one-hectare plots, all farmed biodynamically. Francesco Cantini expertly crafts the wines to show the quality and intensity of fruit and its natural acidity rather than heavy extraction.
A biodynamic Brunello from one of the higher-located wineries in Montalcino featuring an elegant, classic Sangiovese character. Intense, full-bodied and elegant with notes of red and black berries and wild plums intertwined with hints of cloves, thyme and cedar oak. The taste is impressive, full and persistent with ripe, silky tannins and an elegant acidity, leading towards a delicately spicy, long-lasting finish.
